The Uzbek screening event was opened by Afshin Hashemi’s ‘Sea Boys’ on September 13 while it run through September 18, 2022.
The film is about two boys, one from the north of the country and the other from the south. The northern one has lost his father, while the southern has lost his mother.
‘Sea Boys’ is a social drama that takes place in south of Iran; a melodrama starring teenage actors of the south along with prominent actors in cinema and television.
The flick has been already screened in a number of global film events, including the “Love is Folly” International Film Festival in Bulgaria, the 35th Cinekid Screening Club in the Netherlands, the 20th Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, the 19th Chennai International Film Festival in India, the 44th Moscow International Film Festival in Russia and the 2021 Shanghai International Film Festival.
‘Sea Boys’ is also the recipient of three awards at the 34th International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Iran.
Founded in 1968, the Tashkent International Film Festival is considered a prominent forum for innovative filmmakers from Asia, Africa and Latin America.
